2017 ICA Conference

Monday and Tuesday I attended the recent International CPTED Association conference at the Coast Plaza Hotel in Calgary, AL CANADA.  It was an exceptional conference as always, I’ve been attending since their first conference in Orlando, FL USA in 1997.  This year’s topic – My street, my neighborhood, my city:  CPTED in Action brought presenters from 17 countries.  As usual it was a great time to make new friends and renew old friendships.  Tony Lake, the outgoing International Chair is from Queensland, Australia.

I renewed acquaintances with several long time friends and learned about expansion of some programs I was involved with 20 years ago when I was with Bellevue like Crime Free Public Housing which is alive and well in Edmonton, AL CANADA.  If you’re interested in CPTED the ICA is a great organization with a very good on line newsletter.  It’s worth the member dues.  Check out their website on our resources page.
